Virgin Media 02 was the most complained about telco provider across a range of services in the latest statistics compiled by telecoms regulator Ofcom.
VMO2 received 32 complaints per 100,000 broadband customers between July and September 2023, while sister company O2 received the most criticism for mobile.
Ofcom said a factor in Virgin Media's complaints was the regulator launching an investigation of problems customers had in cancelling contracts.
Virgin Media accepted it had fallen short of expectations. “Our number one priority is to provide an excellent service to our customers.”
BT subsidiary EE and Sky came out best in the mobile survey, with Sky the provider that overall received the fewest complaints at six per 100,000 subscribers across all of the four services it offers.
Fergal Farragher, Ofcom's consumer protection director, said there had been an overall "slight increase in complaints" compared with the previous quarter.
