Gold Terra Resource Corp (TSX-V:YGT, OTCQX:YGTFF) has resumed its deep drilling directional program at the Con Mine Option property in Yellowknife.
The program is aimed at establishing the extension of high-grade gold mineralization in the Campbell Shear below the Con Mine underground workings on the Con Mine Option (CMO) property.
Gold Terra is hoping to confirm the extension of the high-grade Campbell Shear zone, following a successful intersection 200 meters vertically below the Robertson shaft.
The company is collaborating with subsidiaries of Newmont Corporation on the program.
"After successfully confirming the extension of the high-grade Campbell Shear zone 200 metres vertically below the Robertson shaft with hole GTCM23-055, we are now extending the zone with a wedge off a target 75 metres north of the first intersection,” CEO Gerald Panneton said in a statement.
"The former Con Mine deposit produced 5.1 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 16 g/t and is our prime target below the existing underground workings," Panneton noted.
Despite a slower-than-anticipated restart after the Christmas break, the drilling progress is now picking up momentum, the company said.
Gold Terra is actively continuing its drill program using master/parent hole GTCM23-055 to add multiple intersections into the CS structure. The goal is to intersect the gold-rich CS structure at the same depth as the main hole but 75 meters to the north.
Currently, the new hole is at a depth of 2,105.5 meters and has reached the gold zone at 2,058 meters downhole.
