QC Copper and Gold Inc. (TSX-V:QCCU, OTCQB:QCCUF) announced that an artificial intelligence (AI) analysis of historical drilling, geophysics, and sampling data from the company’s Opemiska copper project in Quebec has pinpointed drill-worthy targets for exploration during 2024.
The company said that the success of the AI analysis by Windfall Geotech relied on the quantity and quality of geological inputs, with Opemiska’s extensive validated data making it an ideal candidate.
Five target areas for detailed exploration and drilling were identified by the analysis, the company said.
The first, known as the Chibougamau Copper showing, is a historical copper-gold site extending 1.5 kilometers by up to 300 meters.
The second covers a north-northeast trending magnetic anomaly running parallel to the first target, located in the Venture Sill about 1.5 kilometers to the east.
Located about 4.5 kilometers northeast of the Cooke Mine along the Gwillim Fault is the third target, while the fourth target is north of Opemiska’s conceptual mineral resource estimate (MRE) pit.
The fifth target occurs in the magnetic gabbro and pyroxenite facies of the Venture Sill, found about 4 kilometers northwest of the fourth target.
Additional details on the target areas can be found here.
QC Copper and Gold is focused on acquiring and developing copper projects in the Chibougamau region that share synergies with its past-producing Opemiska Copper Mine Complex.
