Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL, ETR:APC)'s upcoming launch of its Vision Pro augmented reality (AR) headsets will significantly boost the AR industry, with spatial computing firm ARway.ai (CSE:ARWY, OTCQB:ARWYF) already seeing boosted demand for its technology.
According to analysts at Wedbush, the Vision Pro headset is already surpassing expectations. Preorders of approximately 180,000 have far outstripped Wall Street estimates of less than 80,000 units.
“With Apple's Vision Pro launching on February 2, the AR and spatial computing industry is really starting to heat up,” ARway CEO Evan Gappelberg told Proactive’s Steve Darling in an exclusive interview.
“We’ve been at this for years and all that hard work we’ve been putting in is now starting to pay off.”
ARway’s artificial intelligence (AI)-powered, no-code spatial computing platform provides a range of AR experiences for indoor spaces, such as navigation, tours, information sharing, notifications, advertising, and gamification.
It works across both iOS and Android systems and is optimized for mobile and AR glasses such as Apple’s Vision Pro and Microsoft’s HoloLens.
The company in September 2023 was selected to participate in the Apple Vision Pro Developer Labs in Cupertino, California where it completed a first build of the ARway platform on the Vision Pro hardware and realityOS operating system.
This week it announced that it has signed another key contract for its AR navigation technology with AI Safer, the Agency of Record for The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts in Saudi Arabia.
“[As well as] this deal, just before this call I signed another transaction with an agency out of Belgium which we’ll be announcing shortly,” Gappelberg told Proactive.
“So, this is happening and business is really starting to pick up quite significantly.”
