Crestview Exploration Inc (CSE:CRS) unveiled rock chip sampling results at the Falcon Mine in Nevada that suggest the presence of a potentially extensive mineralization system.
The sampling program covered the Falcon mine area and an approximately one-kilometre northerly trend of quartz vein material. Thirty-nine samples were submitted for geochemical analysis, revealing detectable gold or silver in all but one sample.
Of those results, four samples displayed over 25 parts per millon (ppm) silver, including samples at 720 ppm silver and 238 ppm silver. Additionally, five samples exhibited over 0.5 ppm gold, with one sample of 1.131 ppm gold.
Crestview told investors that the findings align with the expectation that the mineralization historically mined at Falcon represents only a fraction of a more extensive system extending northward to Crestview's Rock Creek property. The company plans to continue exploration at Falcon with an expanded sampling and mapping program and aims to conduct its first drill program on the neighboring Rock Creek prospect in the summer of 2024.
Crestview advisor Alan Morris noted a potential overprinting system at Falcon, citing variations in silver and gold bias across different locations. Morris suggested that these differences could be the result of overprinting systems from different time periods or changing chemistry due to temperature fluctuations over the life of a single system.
Crestview's Falcon property comprises a total of 114 claims, including 93 claims optioned from the Falcon Mine Group and 21 adjacent claims staked in 2023. The historical data, acquired in 2022, revealed assays reported from the 1930s and sampling of historic workings in the 1960s and 1970s.
