Rumble shares takeoff on Barstool Sports partnership

Rumble shares soared in early trade Monday after the video platform and cloud services provider announced a partnership with private sports and entertainment company Barstool Sports.

Through the partnership, Rumble users will be able to access Barstool Sports content including live streams through the Rumble platform and Barstool Sports will market and promote Rumble as their preferred video home.

It also includes an advertising partnership whereby the two companies plan to bring brand advertisers to the Rumble platform.

In turn, Barstool Sports will leverage Rumble Cloud as its service provider for cloud functions such as computing, storage, and network.

“The partnership with Barstool Sports is a major step in pursuit of our mission to continue building a portfolio of widely popular sports and entertainment content,” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski said in a statement.

“Rumble is quickly emerging as a leading platform for the under-30 demographic, and we're excited for Barstool Sports to be a significant part of our rapid growth.”

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy added: “With the power of Barstool Sports, we are going to help Rumble be the top player in the video, cloud, and live-streaming space."

Rumble shares had gained 22.8% at US$4.40 shortly after Monday’s opening bell.
