Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp (TSX-V:LIT, OTCQX:LILIF) has reported additional positive results from its drill campaign at the Rincon West lithium project in Salta Province, Argentina, located adjacent to Rio Tinto’s Rincon project.
The company reported that samples collected over a 295.5-metre section of its 10th drill hole RW-DDH-010 ranged from 245 to 366 milligrams per litre (mg/l) of lithium.
“Our 10th exploration hole was situated to test the continuity of the brine aquifer as our drilling extends eastward into the main salar basin,” Argentina Lithium vice president of exploration Miles Rideout said in a statement.
“These results demonstrate continued strong grades and an exceptional interval length.”
Samples collected over a 321-metre section of the company’s 11th drill hole, RW-DDH-011, ranged from 246 to 344 mg/l lithium.
Rideout noted that this hole was located 2.7 kilometres to the southeast of the previous drill hole and tested the sale flat in the southern and eastern portions of the main block at the project.
“This produced another long interval of concentrated brines and recovered cores containing fractured crystalline halite and coarse, poorly cemented sediments, which may be excellent formations for pumping potential,” he said.
The company could not reach the bottom of the basin formation in this hole, the VP said. “We plan to extend our ongoing drilling to greater depths, with the objective of drilling into basement rock and defining the bottom of the aquifer,” he said.
