Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:SIDU) announced that it is expanding its expertise beyond traditional hardware and satellite manufacturing to now offer advanced 3D printing services with the introduction of a Multi-Material 3D Printing Division.
The company said it used MarkForged X7 printers and OnyxFR-A material to manufacture structural support components in its LizzieSat satellite, due to launch scheduled on SpaceX’s Transport 10 no sooner than March 2024.
It plans to build on the success of constructing its LizzieSat with the Onyx nylon printed materials by extending its capabilities to the broader market.
Through a digital warehouse for storing parts, customers can easily print manufacturer-approved digital parts from compositive materials including Nylon Onyx, Onyx FR-A, Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, and Kevlar.
Through its Multi-Material 3D Printing Division the company will also offer 3D printing in PLA and TPU materials.
Expanding its services to include Multi-Material 3D Printing is a natural progression for the company, Sidus CEO Carol Craig said in a statement.
