Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (OTC:LBSR) (dba Liberty Star Minerals) is making good progress with its first-ever drilling program at its flagship Hay Mountain property in southeast Arizona, the company shared in an update.
The property, situated within a region known for significant porphyry copper-gold-moly geological structures, is being explored for commercially important metals.
According to an interim field report, drilling at the second hole will continue from 1,500 feet to 2,000 feet. This decision is informed by observations and Portable X-ray Fluorescence (PXRF) readings indicating hydrothermal alteration and sulfides associated with veins in the core.
These findings raise the possibility of a carbonate replacement deposit at depth, Liberty Star said in a statement.
The company acknowledged that pending assay analysis is crucial to confirming or refuting this initial observation.
Further developments in the drilling program will shed light on the potential commercial significance of metals within the Hay Mountain Property, contributing to Liberty Star's exploration efforts in the region.
Hay Mountain is an exploration-stage property in Cochise County, southeast Arizona that is prospective for porphyry copper, gold, moly, and other commercially important minerals.
