American Express Company (NYSE:AXP, ETR:AEC1) is expected to report its seventh consecutive quarter of record revenue when it reports back for the fourth quarter ahead of the opening bell on Friday, January 16.
After reporting record revenue of $15.4 billion in 3Q, analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research expect the integrated payments company to do even better in 4Q, with consensus at $16.03 billion.
Based on 16 analysts' forecasts, the consensus earnings per share (EPS) forecast for the quarter is $2.64, a 28% improvement on the $2.07 it achieved in 4Q 2022.
The company, known for serving a premium customer base, has attributed its success to resilient spending by wealthy clients and its ability to manage the impact of inflation and Federal Reserve rate hikes effectively.
Its credit performance has also remained strong due to its high-end customer base.
