A set of guidelines for how businesses can safely use AI technologies has been released by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
The new guidance explains how companies can set up and maintain an AI management system while making sure that users and employees remain safe.
It comes after research highlighted that just under two-thirds of people wanted global guidelines for the technology.
BSI said the guide will address issues such as “non-transparent automatic decision-making” and whether to use machine learning rather than human code for system designs.
Companies will be able to “responsibly play their part in the design, development and provision of AI-enabled products and services that can benefit them and society as a whole,” a statement from the UK organisation added.
Susan Taylor Martin, CEO, BSI said: “AI is a transformational technology. For it to be a powerful force for good, trust is critical.
“BSI is proud to be at the forefront of ensuring AI’s safe and trusted integration across society.”
