Pegasus Resources Inc announced that it has begun a geological mapping and sampling program on its past-producing Energy Sands uranium property in Utah.
The mineral exploration company said it will compile the data gathered during the program to inform and facilitate the application process for all applicable permits, with the goal of starting a drill program at Energy Sands in 2024.
"We believe that Energy Sands has the potential to play a crucial role in meeting the future demand for uranium," Pegasus Resources CEO Christian Timmins said in a statement.
"This aligns perfectly with our strategic vision, and we are eager to contribute to the growth of the domestic uranium sector," he added.
Pegasus noted the geological mapping and sampling program includes an evaluation of access and identification of idealized areas for planned drilling in the second and third quarters of 2024.
