3M Co (NYSE:MMM) is expected to report a small rise in earnings when it releases its fourth-quarter report ahead of market open next Tuesday.
The Post-It Notes and Scotch Tape maker has already guided investors to expect full-year adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $8.95 to $9.15 after raising its guidance with the release of its 3Q results.
However, the company, also known for producing electronic displays for devices like smartphones and tablets, has highlighted potential challenges in its electronics and consumer sectors, warning of slowing growth in the final quarter of 2023.
Analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research expect adjusted EPS of $2.31 for the quarter reflecting a year-over-year increase of 1.32% from 4Q 2022.
The adjusted EPS numbers exclude a series of notable charges the company has booked this year, including a $4.2 billion pre-tax charge for its Combat Arms earplugs settlement and restructuring-related charges of $68 million.
