Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) is getting started on a fully-funded diamond drill program at the Marudi Mountain property to explore and test high-grade gold mineralization at Mazoa Hill and new exploration targets.
The 3,000-metre drill program, which commences in mid-January, will start at the Pancake Creek target, according to Golden Shield.
The company told investors it has strategically planned the diamond drill program to assess the vertical extent of the high-grade gold ore shoot at Mazoa Hill and further explore potential targets, including Pancake Creek.
This program builds upon successful intercepts from previous drilling activities, such as 50 meters grading 9.10 g/t Au and 9.75 meters grading 11.9 g/t Au.
The diamond drill program's primary focus is to test the depth of high-grade gold mineralization at Mazoa Hill, providing crucial information for resource estimation.
Golden Shield said it had retained a consultant to aid in preparing a current resource estimate based on the diamond drill program.
Toronto-based Golden Shield continues to advance the Marudi Reverse Circulation (RC) drill campaign, completing 101 holes totaling 5,588 meters in 2023. The objective is to target newly discovered zones and establish continuity of mineralization laterally.
The company is still receiving and processing results from the December reverse circulation drill program, with plans to release and incorporate them into future exploration plans.
Golden Shield executive chairman Leo Hathaway told investors that the program “will both definitely determine the vertical depth and resource potential at Mazoa Hill and the potential of the other targets, Pancake Creek being the most compelling."
The upcoming diamond drill program at Mazoa Hill aims to confirm and extend mineralization, providing information for future resource estimates.
