Kanabo Group PLC (LSE:KNB) shares jumped 10% on news it is opening a walk-in clinic in partnership with City Dock Pharmacy in London that will offer specialised pain relief therapies, including medicinal cannabis.
Claiming a first for the UK, Kanabo said the partnership will combine its expertise in medicinal cannabis with traditional treatments for pain management and target patients eligible for alternative therapies.
The partnership should increase the number of patients who receive treatment through Kanabo's Treat It platform, it added.
Based at City Dock Pharmacy in Wapping, the clinic will offer both appointment-based and walk-in services utilising Kanabo's Treat It online platform.
Pharmacists will be on hand to guide patients through the medicinal cannabis treatment options.
The clinic will support the delivery of personalised treatment plans for the growing number of chronic pain sufferers in the UK, said the statement.
More pharmacies will be brought in as partners as the programme rolls out, said Kanabo, to leverage the "extensive" pharmacy network in its digital health division.
Avihu Tamir, Kanabo's chief executive, commented: “The combination of City Dock Pharmacy's trusted presence and our expertise in medicinal cannabis paves the way for a new, holistic approach to treating pain and the opportunity to extend this to additional indications."
