Week ahead: Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Discover, Taiwan Semiconductor

Earnings season slowly ramps up again next week, including the remaining big banks. Investors will also continue to parse CPI and PPI data ahead of the Fed's next meeting on January 30-31.

Tuesday, January 16

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) and Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) kick off the shortened week with earnings, following the likes of Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase Wells Fargo and Citigroup on Friday. Investors will be hoping for better results than most of the big banks managed on Friday.
