Metro Bank Holdings PLC is parting ways with its chief financial officer after completing a refinancing and restructuring package late last year.
CFO James Hopkinson has agreed with the challenger bank that he will step down from the board with immediate effect, it announced today.
He will leave the business before the end of March after handing over responsibilities to his interim replacement.
A crisis engulfed the lender in October following news of an emergency £600 million debt refinancing package to fortify its rocky balance sheet, which was later agreed, with a £325 million rescue equity raise linked to a planned £50 million of cost cutting, including a reported 800 job losses.
December also saw the resignation of senior independent director Monique Melis.
Cristina Alba Ochoa, former finance chief at fellow challenger OakNorth, has been appointed as interim CFO, effective from Monday 15 January.
Metro said the search process to appoint a permanent successor has begun.
Chief executive Daniel Frumkin said: "On behalf of the board I'd like to thank James for his support during a pivotal time for the bank and wish him success for the future."
