Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies Holdings PLC (LSE:OCTP, OTC:OCTHF), a biotech firm specialising in cannabinoid medicines, has filed a European patent application for treating Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), a sudden and severe facial pain.
This application focuses on a composition comprising Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). The company intends to file an international patent based on this application within the next year.
Once granted, the protection will provide OCTP exclusive rights for up to 20 years, covering the use, production and sale of the patented composition.
This move aims to protect OCTP’s R&D investment and establish a competitive edge in the market.
