The Afterhours — Honda unveils flashy EV models, SEC's Bitcoin ETF approval post was a fake

Honda Motor (NYSE:HMC) unveiled a pair of space-age style electric vehicles (EVs) at the CES technology event in Las Vegas Tuesday that the automaker says are coming in 2026.

The new models called 'Space-Hub' and 'Saloon' will make up the Honda 0 Series EVs.

“We will create a completely new value from zero based on thin, light and wise as the foundation for our new Honda 0 EV series to further advance the joy and freedom of mobility to the next level,” CEO Toshihiro Mibe said in a statement.

Investors eager to get in on Bitcoin ETFs will have to wait a little longer after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said that a post on X announcing their approval was the result of a hack.

“The @SECGov twitter account was compromised, and an unauthorized tweet was posted. The SEC has not approved the listing and trading of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products,” SEC Commissioner Gary Gensler posted on X.

Meanwhile, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:HPE) will acquire networking hardware company Juniper Networks for roughly $14 billion, the company announced Tuesday.

The all-cash deal values Juniper at $40 per share, and the company’s stock jumped more nearly 22% Tuesday to $36.81. HPE shares fell nearly 9% to $16.14.
