Fah Mai on whisky investing: A golden elixir for modern portfolios

Fah Mai Holdings Group Inc (OTC:FMHG) outlined the investment case for fine whisky in the group’s latest shareholder newsletter alongside a revenue update for its fine whisky trading business.

Speaking on Fah Mai’s operational ambitions, the company's chief executive Louis Haseman stated that “our organisational focus currently centres on enhancing customer relationships, particularly in nurturing and harvesting existing connections”.

Haseman outlined four distinct audience segments that Fah Mai is focusing on in the new year, namely shareholders, Whisky Bull Auctions members, Platinum Cask members and pure cask owners.

Fah Mai is targeting business expansion via two primary avenues: The sale of equity to fund business expansion and the sale of whisky casks, with additional revenues derived from retail bottle sales.

For the 11 months up to the end of November 2023, Fah Mai successfully sold 36 casks, resulting in cumulative revenues of £166,670.

Unaudited company-wide sales totalled more than £4.37 million, generating a gross profit of £1.52 million and a post-tax net loss of £39,000.

Since the new year, Fah Mai’s Whisky Bull auction platform has been taking bids on an ultra-rare Glen Grant 1948 72-Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Single Malt, noted by Charles Maclean MBE, Master of the Quaich as “one of the finest malts it has been my pleasure to taste in over forty years of professional exploration”.

Fah Mai is in the process of bringing its diversified whisky business to the public through a public offering.

“The world of whisky investing, once shrouded in dusty auction houses and exclusive cellars, has exploded into a modern phenomenon,” read Fah Mai’s newsletter.

Whisky can be a “golden elixir” for modern investment portfolios, said Fah Mai, owing to its solid historical performance, tangible nature and diversification potential.

Fah Mai is hoping to schedule an IPO bell-ringing day for the end of February.
