In an exclusive interview with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion, Cepton, Inc. (NASDAQ:CPTN) Senior Vice President of Product Brunno Moretti explained that the all-new Ultra offers extreme power in a compact design, reaching up to 300 meters at 10% reflectivity with only 12 watts of power consumption.
The introduction of MagnoSteer, a leapfrogging LiDAR imaging technology, further solidifies its revolutionary status, simplifying Cepton's product line while maintaining affordability.
Moretti highlighted Ultra's consolidation role as the ultra-long-range LiDAR within the product ecosystem. The scanning technology, taking up 75% less space and consuming less than 50% power than competitive products is a key component, making the LiDAR compact enough for behind-windshield integration. Safety optimization is emphasized, following ISO 26262 standards, with software-definable abilities and power control.
Cepton will showcase the new Ultra at CTA’s CES consumer electronics trade show in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12, at booth #4040 at the LVCC West Hall.
