Shares in Tekmar Group PLC (AIM:TGP) shot up 17% to 12p after it bagged what it called a "landmark" contract to supply its cable protection system (CPS) to an offshore wind farm development.
The AIM-listed company won the minimum-£3.5 million contract to cover the first phase of development of the project "in an emerging region for offshore wind farm development".
This includes design and supply of its Generation 10 system and ancillary services, with production of the CPS systems expected to begin this year for delivery in 2025.
Chief executive Alasdair Macdonald said the contract "helps consolidate our position in a growing and important region for offshore wind and highlights the strength of our established engineering capability in supporting deployment of our core technologies globally".
