BiVictriX round table highlights lead assets potential in AML

BiVictriX Therapeutics PLC (AIM:BVX, OTC:BVTXF) said it had recently hosted a roundtable discussion with four globally renowned experts in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) to evaluate the preclinical data and clinical potential of its lead asset, BVX001.

This bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targets CD7+/CD33+ in approximately 30% of AML patients, addressing a significant unmet need.

The experts highlighted BVX001's potential effectiveness against leukaemic stem cells and in combating treatment failure and cancer recurrence.

BiVictriX said it plans to form an AML scientific advisory board in 2024 to guide BVX001's patient access strategy. The roundtable included distinguished attendees from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Texas, the University of Colorado's School of Medicine, and The Christie, Manchester, along with key BiVictriX executives.

"Our inaugural KOL [key opinion leader] panel provided key insights into the emerging profile and optimal clinical path for BVX001," said BiVictriX chief executive Tiffany Thorn.

"We are encouraged by the interest and validation of our approach and data to date in this area of high unmet medical need, and we will establish an AML scientific advisory board in 2024 to further assist in shaping a route to patients for BVX001, as we progress to clinical studies."

The company plans to complete further preclinical work on BVX001 early this year, and is currently engaging with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding a first-in-human study.
