OpenAI surpassed $1.6 billion in annualized revenue, up from $1.3 billion as of mid-October, according to a report by The Information.
The publication, which cited two people with knowledge of the annualized revenue figure, said this suggests that OpenAI’s run rate grew at more than 20% in the past two months.
The company attributed its revenue increase to its popular large language model ChatGPT.
OpenAI expects its annualized recurring revenue will grow to $5 billion by the end of 2024, the report said some of the company's executives believe.
It comes amid speculation that OpenAI is seeking to raise new capital, reportedly hoping to close a financing round at a valuation of at least $100 billion.
Rival Anthropic is also reportedly considering a $750 million fundraising round led by Menlo Ventures which could value the firm at $18.4 billion.
