Braveheart up on sale of portfolio company Phasefocus

Braveheart will receive a net £2.1m for its 48.3% stake

Shares in Braveheart jumped 6% as it confirmed another company in its portfolio was changing hands.

Last week, the investment company put its Paraytec diagnostics business up for sale.

Today it confirmed it had accepted an offer for its 48.3% stake in Phasefocus, a microscopic imaging business.

Braveheart will receive a net £2.1m or around two-fifths of its current market value of £5.4m for the Phasefocus stake.

In a statement, it said it had not yet decided whether to hand the cash it receives to shareholders or to invest it in other early-stage tech businesses.

Shares rose 0.5p to 9p.
