Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is facing a probe by Norwegian authorities over supposed suspension failures in its electric cars.
Questions have been asked about the suspected issue since September, according to safety regulator the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Tesla had been told at the time to look into driver complaints over broken rear control arms in Model S and X vehicles, senior engineer at the regulator Tor-Ove Satren said.
News of the probs comes after Reuters published an investigation claiming Tesla had knowingly sought to palm off issues with its cars as driver error.
As per the report, Tesla had used such excuses to avoid funding repairs for such things as steering and suspension components under warranty.
The review in Norway comes after more than 10 customers complained to the administration in 2022 over parts in their cars breaking suddenly.
A decision based on the review could be made by Christmas, according to reports, with the Norwegian regulator able to order recalls.
