Shares in Poolbeg Pharma PLC (AIM:POLB, OTCQB:POLBF) were marked higher after it unveiled significant progress with its AI-driven programme for the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Using technology, it was able to reduce the timeline for identifying drug candidates to just 10 months. Ordinarily, this discovery phase would take two to four years.
Now, the focus is on what Poolbeg will do next, according to the small-cap research house Cavendish. “Management is currently exploring the most effective way to progress these candidates and we believe any future partnering announcements to represent potential catalysts for the share price,” it added.
The stock, up 0.22p at 9.27p, is worth 19p, Cavendish said in a note to clients.
