Filtronic PLC (LSE:FTC) jumped 9% as it announced its second £4 million-plus contract in the space of two days.
Worth US$6.0 million (£4.8 million), the latest contract is for its Cerus32 solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) module, said the mobile phone base station specialist.
The SSPAs will be part of ground-based antenna stations for a network of E-band-enabled LEO (low earth orbit) satellites.
Revenue is expected to be recognised within the calendar year 2024.
Richard Gibbs, chief executive, commented: "The customer has always valued the flexibility of the Cerus32 design, and with this new contract is keen to take advantage of the scalable form factor and the additional power our second-generation E-band product provides."
On Tuesday, Filtronic announced a £4.5 million contract for RF modules for a UK defence company.
That order was a collaboration between the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the customer, Filtronic and PRFI, a UK-based technical design consultancy, said Gibbs.
Shares today rose 2p to 23p.
