Amaroq Minerals Ltd (TSX-V:AMRQ, AIM:AMRQ) announced that a fresh examination of geophysics data collected in 2022 at its Nanoq gold project in Greenland by ALS Goldspot (TSX-V:SPOT) Discoveries has expanded the potential size of the resource.
The Nanoq prospect, which was shown by previous exploration to host a high-grade quartz vein system exposed at surface up to 20 metres wide and 1 kilometer in strike length, is located 120 kilometres northeast of the company’s Nalunaq gold mine and within the Nanortalik Gold Belt.
The new analysis indicated a 25-kilometer corridor linking the Nanoq target to the Jokum’s Shear project.
Amaroq is now designing a 5,000 to 10,000-metre diamond core drilling program to delineate this gold target in 2024.
“Following our successful 2023 resource drilling programme at Naluanq, Amaroq continues to develop further gold potential across the Nanortalik Gold Belt,” Amaroq vice president exploration James Gilbertson said.
“This study, which employed the advanced expertise of ALS Goldspot (TSX-V:SPOT), has further developed our understanding of the Nanoq target, which benefits from being exposed at surface, with evidence that the controlling structure continues along two 25km corridors through our licences to our Jokum’s Shear target.”
Meanwhile, the company said it has completed and received the results from a 10,000-line kilometre geophysics program targeting the South Greenland Copper Belt.
“Our discovery team continues to push the boundaries of current geological understanding of South Greenland," Gilbertson said.
"The successful completion of about 10,000 line kilometres of geophysics, with all results now received for detailed interpretation, is testament to our commitment to continual mineral discovery across multiple mineral belts."
