Lloyd’s of London stays at landmark tower until 2035

Lloyd's of London will remain at its City skyscraper headquarters until at least 2035, it confirmed on Monday.

The British insurance market confirmed it has extended its lease with building owner Ping An, a Chinese insurer.

The award-winning 14-story tower at One Lime Street, designed by architect Richard Rogers and completed in 1986, holds grade 1-listed status.

Despite being overshadowed by newer, taller skyscrapers in recent years, the building with its distinctive external lifts and service pipes remains a City landmark.

Lloyd's announced the lease extension on Monday, specifying an option to further extend until 2040.

The insurance market plans to continue renovations on the property, with a focus on enhancing energy efficiency.
