Kistos up as North Sea gas plant comes back onstream

Kistos PLC (AIM:KIST) edged higher again as it confirmed the Shetland gas plant that handles production from the Greater Laggan Area of the North Sea has resumed operations.

Operator and joint venture partner TotalEnergies restarted the export of gas on 16 December, Kistos added.

North Sea-focused oil and gas group Kistos had notified the market that the gas plant had shut down due to a heating medium system fault on 6 December.

Andrew Austin, Kistos executive chairman, said: "We would like to thank the teams at TotalEnergies for their swift and highly professional approach to this incident, both in the immediate response and then the subsequent investigation and implementation of the engineering works to successfully ensure the plant was safely restarted and back to full production."

Shares rose 1.5% to 172.5p.
