Every little helps: Tesco gives you extra... moths

Tesco recalls ‘Finest’ Christmas stuffing over moth contamination

Tesco PLC (LSE:TSCO) has recalled a premium stuffing mix from its line as it could contain moths.

That’s right, you read that correctly: moths.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said on Thursday that Tesco is recalling the Tesco Finest Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix due to the “possible presence of moths”.

The regulator’s risk statement said: “This product has a presence of insects (moths), which makes it unsafe to eat.”

The problem specifically affected the 130 gram packets of the stuffing from Tesco’s ‘Finest’ range, with a best before date of September 2024.

The FSA said the company has issued a recall notice to its customers, explaining why the product is being recalled and telling them what to do if they have bought the product.

It advised customers not to consume the stuffing and to return it into store where a full refund would be issued.
