Lithium Universe Ltd (ASX:LU7) recently held a strategic meeting with the Québec Government and Investissement Québec during the COP 28 Climate Conference in Dubai, UAE.
The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the company’s approach to Canada's lithium downstream challenge.
In attendance from the Québec Government were Minister of Economics, Innovation and Energy Pierre Fitzgibbon and president of Investissement Québec International Hubert Bolduc.
Representing Lithium Universe were chairman Iggy Tan, directors Dr Jingyuan Liu, Patrick Scallan and Fadi Diab, and CEO Alex Hanly.
The company presented the 'Lithium Dream Team' and it’s proven track record of building successful lithium projects around the world.
LU7’s strategy includes establishing local, smaller-scale, downstream-focused refineries, starting with refining operations and progressing upstream to exploit the potential of the James Bay region.

This strategy aims to address the significant challenges in the Canadian lithium industry, emphasising the establishment of a comprehensive supply chain within Quebec.
The Québec Government acknowledged the strategic objective of Lithium Universe, with Minister Fitzgibbon appreciating the unique strategic objective of Lithium Universe and stressed the importance for the Quebec Government to integrate its critical minerals supply chain in Quebec.
