VanadiumCorp Resource Inc (TSX-V:VRB) announced on Tuesday that its vanadium electrolyte processing plant constructed in the United Kingdom has been approved for shipment to Québec, Canada.
The company said that its engineering team inspected the assembled equipment at the U.K. facility of C-Tech Innovation and approved it for transport to Val-des-Sources, Québec.
Upon arrival in Canada, the plant will be re-assembled and commissioned, with operator training and full commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2024.
VanadiumCorp said that its review of the plant confirmed that its throughput was 300,000 litres per year of electrolyte and with additional weekly process batching, output can top 350,000 litres per year.
It is carrying out additional consultation with C-Tech Innovation on the pre-engineering design of VanadiumCorp’s second plant, which is currently expected to support the production of 4 million litres per year of electrolyte.
“C-Tech Innovation is pleased to support VanadiumCorp with the delivery of a bespoke 300,000 litres per year vanadium electrolyte plant based on our proprietary C-Flow electrolyzer design,” C-Tech Innovation general manager Nikkie Cooke said in a statement.
“Moving forward, we are excited to be part of the team working on the first phase deployment of a 4 million litres per year production facility in 2024.”
VanadiumCorp seeks to produce a reliable stream of high-quality vanadium electrolytes for the expanding international market for long-duration Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB).
