Willow Biosciences Inc (TSX:WLLW, OTCQB:CANSF) expects to generate commercial revenue from an expanded partnership with a Nasdaq-listed biopharmaceutical company as early as 2024, the company’s CEO Chris Savile has highlighted.
Savile sat down with Proactive to discuss the company’s recent announcement that it has partnered with the biopharmaceutical company to develop precise, concise manufacturing routes to advanced intermediates and high-value active pharmaceutical ingredients.
The initial phase of the feasibility program, which leveraged Willow's BioOxi platform, exceeded expectations and now Willow and its partner are moving into the next phase of optimization, which involves developing a commercial manufacturing process, he said.
Savile told Proactive that these types of partnerships were fantastic because they allow companies to demonstrate their abilities and they often snowball into more opportunities with that partner and others.
“It fits with our strategy of generating near-term revenue with partner programs leading to our ultimate goal of commercial revenue, which is coming in as early as 2024 – the time to commercial revenue is quite short,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time. We expect to see more programs coming and more commercial success coming throughout 2023, which is coming to an end, and into 2024.”
