Docusign shares slide despite 3Q expectations beat

DocuSign Inc stock fell 1% in extended trading after initially popping 8% higher on third-quarter results that topped expectations.

The electronic signature software company posted adjusted earnings of $0.79 per share, topping expectations of $0.63 per share.

Revenue was $700.4 million, up from $645.5 million a year earlier and above Street expectations of $690 million.

“We are making progress on product innovation, go-to-market effectiveness, and operational efficiency as we build on our considerable scale and trusted market position and expand beyond e-signature into intelligent agreement management,” CEO Allan Thygesen said in a statement.

Looking ahead, the company guided for fourth-quarter sales of $696 million to $700 million, compared to analyst expectations of $694 million.
