Kootenay Silver stock continues to shine on Mexico silver results

Kootenay Silver Inc shares have surged 60% over the past three months, to its current price of $1.20, as the exploration company continues to release high-grade silver results from its Columba project in Mexico.

Its most recently announced assays on Thursday included 174 grams per tonne (g/t) silver over 22 metres (m). This follows a 29m intercept of 208 g/t silver reported two weeks earlier in addition to 599 g/t silver over 13.56m released in mid-October.

"We finished the 12 holes and hit in every single hole on the D vein on step outs, expanding the size of the vein, and we continue to get excellent widths and excellent grades throughout,” Kootenay Silver CEO James McDonald told Proactive recently.

McDonald noted that the best drill hole, 145, returned 6m averaging 435 g/t silver, while stressing that 145 is the eastern most hole below the key 1,700m depth, which as a rule of thumb is where the best grades are seen occurring, so it leaves the deposit wide open in that direction and to depth.

Looking ahead, McDonald added that the company plans to do a lot of drilling while “stepping away” until the edges of the mineralization are found.

So, he said there will be step out drilling to expand the size of the deposit then infield drilling to get enough density to have confidence to be able to do a resource estimate.
