For Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (NASDAQ:TTWO), the trailer creates as many questions as it answers, according to analysts at Jefferies.
“As typical first trailers go, it doesn’t show much other than setting the scene (Vice City), incredible graphic fidelity, and hinting at the game play,” the analysts wrote. “After we bask in the fun for a brief moment, we can start asking the hard questions.”
Those questions include when the game will be released and how much it will cost, which matters a lot when considering Take-Two’s issued guidance, the analysts noted.
“A Feb/March 2025 release date could indeed deliver TTWO's guidance of ~$8B bookings in FY25 and growth in 2026,” the analysts wrote. “...There is still no exact release date, so fears of a delay into holiday 2025 and out of FY24 will immediately ensue.”
If there is a delay, Take-Two will likely need another game or multiple from its 'Immersive Core' pipeline, which includes the NBA2K and WWE2K franchises, to reach that level.
There was also no listed price and no clarification on its availability on console and PC. Jefferies expects a $70 price tag and a PC release date a few months behind its console counterpart.
