Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)'s commercial division Ford Pro has partnered with electricity provider Xcel Energy on the rollout of 30,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging ports across the United States by 2030.
The two companies said Tuesday that their new 30x30 initiative under Xcel Energy’s broader Electric Vehicle Supply Infrastructure (EVSI) program will scale EV adoption and improve access to charging infrastructure for business fleets across Xcel Energy’s U.S. service areas.
Xcel Energy will install the charging infrastructure for business customers who qualify for the program, with most upfront costs offset by the company, and Ford Pro will provide its charging equipment and post-installation customer service and support, they said.
Starting next year, the 30x30 program will be available in Colorado and Wisconsin and is expected to eventually expand to Xcel Energy’s other service territories, including Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota and Texas.

Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis added: “We know electrification can be complex for businesses. We’re focused on helping them make that transition at the right time in the right way that’s best for their business.”
Shares of Xcel Energy traded down 0.2% at US$61.34 following the announcement, while Ford shares were down 0.3% at US$10.66.
