MTB Metals (TSX-V:MTB, OTCQB:MBYMF) has announced results from the second phase of drilling on the Red Cliff gold-copper project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle region.
The results, released by MTB’s joint-venture partner Decade Resources Ltd, include 9.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 0.98 meters (m) and extend the known mineralized zone at Montrose to the north.
The resource projects developer noted that gold-bearing showings at Red Cliff occur along a north-northwest striking belt that is at least 2 kilometres in length.
Mineralization occurs in steeply plunging en-echelon ore shoots within this broad trend and there is high potential for the discovery of other ore shoots within this belt. Splays off the main trend have also been identified in historic drilling.
The Montrose zone is north-south trending with cross-cutting east-west trending veins from 2 to 5 m wide. Historic reports, which have not been verified by MTB or Decade Resources, make mention of massive sulphide veins up to 2.5m with reported assays up to 270 g/t gold and as well as 49 g/t gold over 0.5m.
MTB said the 2023 program was designed to test the northern extension of the Montrose Zone as well as define near-surface high-grade gold-copper for a potential 10,000-tonne bulk test in the Upper Montrose area.
The ground between the Montrose and Red Cliff Zones remains untested, it added.
MTB owns a 35% interest in the project with Decade Resources owning the remaining 65%. Decade is the operator.
Drilling results for both phase 2 and phase 2 can be found here.
MTB Metals has six active projects spanning 670 square kilometres in the Golden Triangle of northern British Columbia, with a focus on the Telegraph project. Discussions are now underway leading to joint ventures and/or spinouts of other projects.
