Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) announced that it has located antimony mineralization in bedrock at its McDougall Road antimony-gold property in western New Brunswick, Canada.
The company said stibnite mineralization (antimony sulfide) was located within an outcrop during its 2023 exploration program in the area of a reported fault. It was found in a region of the project where the company had previously confirmed antimony and soil geochemical anomalies.
The outcrop is highly siliceous and possibly silicified with highly oxidized and crumbly parts, indicating a possible fault, and also contains pyrite mineralization, Great Atlantic said.
Rock samples collected during the program from outcrop, subcrop and glacially transported float are being prepared for multi-element analysis, including gold and antimony, it added.
