Verizon offers discounted Netflix/Max bundle, doubling down on streaming service perks

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) is offering a streaming service bundle of ads-supported Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Max for $10 a month starting on December 7 to wireless customers on unlimited plans, the company announced Monday.

The ad-supported tiers of Netflix and Max, the Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:WBD) streaming service created from the fusion of Discovery+ and HBO Max, normally cost a combined $17 per month.

This is far from the first time Verizon has used subscription offers to attract potential customers. Through its myPlan program, the company has 10 streaming packages available, including Disney+, Apple TV+, Hulu, Walmart+ and more.

Reseller deals like this see Verizon pay per-subscriber wholesale prices to the streaming services, in a partnership designed to help both parties grow their consumer base.

“Verizon is the first provider to offer a bundle of Netflix & Max (with ads) and it’s available to all myPlan customers,” the company said in a statement. “Verizon is using its strategic relationships with the biggest players in the content industry to continue to unlock more value for its wireless customers.”
