Ariana Resources' Salinbas hopes boosted by latest assays

Ariana said it was “yet another great set of results from the Salinbas Project”

Ariana Resources PLC (AIM:AAU) said the latest drilling results at Salinbas in Turkey have defined wide zones of high-to-moderate grade gold mineralisation in a number of areas.

Assays from 61 holes of resource drilling covering 6,000 metres (m) in the upper Salinbas area showed best results of 7.2m at 9.37 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 6.5m at 3.69 g/t and 11.05m at 1.56 g/t.

Results from a further 1,700m of drill core are still pending.

Kerim Sener, Ariana’s managing director, commented that it was “yet another great set of results from the Salinbas Project”.

“Over 37,000 metres of drilling has now been undertaken in the wider Salinbas Project area, inclusive of Salinbas and Ardala, but also including the recent discovery area of Hizarliyayla to the south."

Sener added this work “has now yielded the longest mineralised intercept ever recorded on the project at Ardala, the discovery of a potentially significant intermediate-sulphidation system at Hizarliyayla, and successful in-fill drilling results from the Salinbas deposit itself.”

While still at an early stage, Sener said Ariana is confident that the broader Salinbas Project area represents the opportunity to build on the existing 1.5 million-ounce gold resource through further exploration and drilling.

Drilling at Salinbas will continue over the winter, weather permitting, he said, but in the meantime, assays are expected for holes drilled in the area between Salinbas and Ardala.
