AWS launches Amazon Q AI chatbot designed for businesses

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched an artificial intelligence chat tool designed for businesses called Amazon Q.

The AI assistant, announced by AWS CEO Adam Selipsky at the AWE re:Invent event, is designed as a resource for a business’ employees to ask questions about their company.

For instance, a worker could ask Amazon Q about their company’s photo usage guidelines or social media best practices, and the AI assistant would respond using data from the company.

Amazon Q can be accessed using the AWS Management Console, from a company’s documentation pages or third-party apps like Slack. Pricing starts at $40 per month within Amazon Connect, but users can try it for free until March 2024, the company said.

Notably, to assuage potential privacy concerns, Selipsky said that Amazon Q data would not be used to train other AI models. Amazon Q itself was trained on 17 years of AWS data.
