One World Lithium Inc. (CSE:OWLI, OTCQB:OWRDF) said it has successfully validated its advanced carbonation extraction technology through bench testing.
The technology quickly, cost-effectively, and environmentally extracts lithium while simultaneously producing lithium carbonate directly in a brine through advanced carbonation, aiming to reduce environmental impact by eliminating the need for common consumables in traditional extraction and mineralization practices.
What’s more, the technology was effective under diverse conditions, including varying lithium concentrations in brine, the company said in a statement.
Highlights of the results include simultaneous extraction and precipitation of lithium carbonate in a brine, a processing time of approximately nine minutes, and direct production of lithium carbonate at very low concentrations.
Additional results included selective formation of lithium carbonate, collection of lithium carbonate particles larger than 45 microns, and an indication of potential carbon dioxide storage with zero freshwater usage, emphasizing environmental benefits.
The Vancouver-based company is hoping to commercialize the technology.
Jack Lifton, an advisory to OWL, told shareholders that OWL’s process “represents the lowest cost method of direct lithium extraction, and that it by far, the simplest and lowest cost, ESG compliant, process to implement.”
“These results will assist Jack Lifton to Introduce OWL and its Advanced Lithium Extraction Technology to the producers and consumers of lithium carbonate,” OWL CEO Doug Fulcher added.
One World Lithium is focused on identifying promising properties with potential lithium in brine. The company is actively pursuing the commercial application of its Advanced Lithium Extraction Technology, aiming to license or enter joint ventures with current and future lithium carbonate producers and consumers.
