Shares of US cinema giant AMC Entertainment continued their downward slide after early reports indicated a mixed Thanksgiving weekend for the US film industry.
Disney's latest blockbuster Wish did badly though the Hunger Games prequel and Napoleon made up some of the shortfall with decent showings.
US box office sales totalled an estimated $172 million in the five days from Wednesday until Sunday, according to industry researcher Comscore.
That was better than last year’s $122.8 million but hopes that the 2018 record of $315.6 million might be surpassed again looked a pipedream.
