Frontier Developments down again on new sales warning

Frontier now expects annual sales of between £80-95m

Frontier Developments PLC (AIM:FDEV) tumbled 22% as it confirmed the latest computer game iteration of the Warhammer franchise, Realms of Ruin, had made a disappointing start.

Sales to date have been lower than expected, said the statement, and though expected to build over time, revenue guidance for this fiscal year of £108 million won’t be met.

Frontier now expects sales between £80-95 million, though it has kept its underlying loss guidance of £9 million unchanged on the assumption it hits the top end of revenues while it also predicted at least break even for fiscal 2025.

The group's construction and management simulation (CMS) games (Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution and Jurassic World Evolution 2) continue to do well, said Frontier, with one new CMS release scheduled for each of the next three years.

Cash at the end of October amounted to £20.5 million, not including a fee due from Microsoft for F1 Manager.

Shares fell 43.8p to 152.2p.
