Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) expects 2024 to be another busy exploration year across its portfolio of projects in Japan.
Recently returned from a trip to Japan, the company’s CEO John Proust told Proactive that 2024 is "setting up to be very strong.”
As part of its alliance with Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX, NYSE:GOLD), Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) is advancing six projects in Japan that they believe could host a Tier 1 or Tier 2 ore body.
“Barrick is keen to make a discovery,” the CEO said. “It’s all about drilling, drilling, drilling because drilling is how we’re going to make discoveries.”
It announced in mid-November that it has kicked off a second round of drilling at its Barrick Alliance Mizobe project in southern Kyushu after initial drilling extended the mineralization at the project.
Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) is also encouraged by other international companies expressing their interest in entering Japan and partnering with the company.
“We’re quite optimistic other companies have been watching Japan for some time and the activities of Barrick,” Proust said.
“They’re coming in with the benefit of having projects where the preliminary work is done so their impetus is really to get into drill projects that they find attractive as well.”
Japan Gold is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused solely on gold exploration across the three largest islands of Japan: Hokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu.
