HSBC Holdings PLC (LSE:HSBA)'s banking app stopped working on Black Friday, leaving thousands of customers blocked out of their accounts, according to reports.
The app outage affected customers’ ability to make online purchases, transfer money, and unfreeze their cards.
The crash was reported by more than 4,100 customers, who said the app had run into problems before 9 am this morning, according to Downdetector.
The bank apologised for the disturbance on its social media platform and said it was investigating the issue as a matter of urgency.
