Evergold hoping for "great 2024" after maiden drilling campaign at DEM prospect

Evergold Corp (TSX-V:EVER, OTC:EVGUF) has successfully completed its inaugural drilling program at the road-accessible DEM prospect in central British Columbia, and CEO Kevin Keough is cautiously optimistic about the results. In an interview with Proactive's Steve Darling, Keough highlighted the success of the program, acknowledging the inherent risks while expressing confidence in the chosen prospect.

Proactive: We're talking about your drill program at the DEM prospect in British Columbia. It's been completed. Let's get some details. It was pretty successful, I understand.

Kevin Keough: Yes, of course, as I cautioned investors, we have to wait for assays. But this was a very high risk, but very small initial drill program, right? We only had so much money. So we went in, on what we felt was a terrific prospect, DEM. And the short answer is that we hit on all three holes. And we have a broad system, we've seen some very exciting-looking stuff in core. We pretty well described that yesterday, but we're very hopeful that we are on the cusp of really drilling into a major Porphyry system.

Measuring those drill distance apart. Maybe you can talk about the program itself and the area you're in but more importantly, the distance between where those drill holes were.

Yes, they're a long way apart, they're about 350 meters apart. You might recall that our goal with this first program is to discover either a porphyry, a large intrusive system, and/or its high-grade or potentially high-grade vein systems. So you often have the two, you'll have the intrusion, and either above it or around it, you will have a high-grade vein system. So we've clearly drilled into the vein systems, we don't yet know what the grades will be. But we've drilled into them with some beautiful-looking material. And so for our first short program, these results are really pretty excellent. So we're really happy to deliver it for shareholders.

How far were you able to get down in that drill program? And secondly, you've talked in the past about how potentially wide you're hoping this will be but depth-wise, is it something that you would go deep on or is it more near surface? Is that something you can share with us?

We mentioned there again that two of our three holes actually drilled into the system right from surface. So it's right there at surface, we talked about a lot of sulphide material, sulphide mineralization, we didn't actually use the term mineralization because it can be a little misleading. So what we tried to describe was what we saw, which is a lot of sulfides, and mixed sulfides, so it's not just pyrite, although pyrites are often associated with gold. What we're really excited about is the abundant arsenopyrite, which is a terrific pathfinder for gold. We've seen copper minerals, moly minerals. So it's a broad system; these intercepts are broad. It remains to be seen exactly what we get out of them. But I can also tell you that it's not only veins, but we're also drilling porphyritic dikes, which we talked about, and those dikes are also mineralized. So we may be seeing the early phase of dikes that have come off an intrusive body somewhere that we haven't yet found, as well as the high grade or at least the exciting sulfide vein component.

Of course, we're waiting for assay results to come back. Do you hope to get them before the end of the year or does that depend on how busy the labs are?

We may get them by the end of the year, at least some of them. We’ll try to put a rush on as much of it as we can. Certainly, we should have everything in the hopper, I believe by say the 15th of January. But we'll try to surprise the market. We surprised elements of the market I think with getting this real program completed so quickly when we did Steve because a lot of people figured we were only going to do it next year. But it's done and if the results come back strong. It'll set us up for a really great 2024.
